Kia Sonet

The Kia has finally launched its Sonet, the Sub-4m compact SUV on 16th of September 2020 at a price point of Rs. 6.71 Lakhs in India. At very first glance, Kia Sonet feels like heavy muscular SUV with striking looks. After arrival of Sonet, the compact SUV market has been filled with the number of options to choose from, so let's see what Sonet offers.

 


The Kia Sonet comes with stunning exterior; it has that signature Tiger-nose grille, LED headlamps with heartbeat LED DRLs, which gives it an aggressive front. The rear of Kia Sonet has heartbeat LED tail lamps similar to the front DRLs. It also comes with dual muffler design which gives it aggressive styling from rear end. 

 


The Kia also offers electric sunroof with Sonet, as it is one of the most loved feature in Indian market. The Sonet comes in crystal cut alloys that makes the wheels look sportier and premium. The Kia offers Sonnet in 8 monotone and 3 dual tone colour scheme. The SUV is available in 6 variant out of which 5 are from Tech-Line and when is GT-Line.

 


Engine

 The Kia has only introduced the Sonet with a 1.0 litre 6-speed manual transmission at a time of launch. The Kia offers plenty of engine options to choose from. The Sonet it is offering to petrol engine, first 1.2 litre 5-speed manual transmission which produce 81 bhp of power power and 115 Nm of torque, meanwhile it also offers 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine which produce 117 bhp of power and 172 Nm of torque. This turbo charged engine to come with 6-speed iMT and 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Coming up to the diesel engine, it offers 1.5 litre CRDi WGT with 6-speed manual transmission that produce 97 bhp of power and 240 Nm of torque. The Kia is also offering 1.5 litre CRDi VGT 6 speed automatic transmission and it produce 113 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque.

 

Interior

 In terms of interior, the Kia is offering number of features with plenty of "first-in-segment" features. It offers 10.25 inch touch screen and 4.2 inch color instrument cluster and a steering wheel with leather upholstery. The Kia also offers ventilated front seats and multi drive modes as well as traction modes with Sonet. Apart from this, Sonet also come with smart pure air purifier and MT remote start engine. The interior of Sonet is also loaded with Bose premium 7-speaker system with LED sound mood lights.

 


Features

 The Kia Sonet offers number of first in segment features alongside with standard safety features. It offers 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake assist, Projector fog lamps, front and rear parking sensor and many more. It also offers features like central locking, rear AC vents, follow me home headlamps and sunglass holder.

 


The sub-4m compact SUV from Kia is loaded with number of modern and class leading features and is ready to take on with its rivals. The price point at which Kia offers Sonet is almost identical to its competition but the features makes it ahead of its competition.
